Food Trucks

In May 2019 food service at The Hall took an evolutionary step. What started out as a unique marriage between food trucks and technology transformed into amazing food vendors of all types who now call The Kitchen DSM their home. These members of The Kitchen include caterers, aspiring restaurant owners, guest chefs and food truck operators.

As Iowa's only food and beverage hall, we will continue to bring you new and exciting menu offerings provided by the Members of The Kitchen. The new state-of-the-art kitchen allows all of its members to explore new levels of culinary creativity.

Eclectic, delicious and fresh, the food at The Hall will satisfy your taste buds and spark conversations. Perhaps you’ll bond over Belgian waffles? Or better yet, fall in love over pizza pies.

+ The menus are a little dynamic around here. Check the calendar to see who is on +

Dinner Service begins everyday at 5pm. Lunch Service begins at 11am Thursday thru Sunday.

The World is Our Oyster

The launching of The Kitchen DSM has opened the doors for unparalleled culinary offerings. We have a few more vendors to announce this summer as well as plans for guest chef nights and foodie fundraisers for The Justice League of Food. The list below represents the current members of The Kitchen DSM owned by The Justice League of Food. 10% of all food vendor sales and 100% of FoodWorks sales always go to the JLF to help fund its mission of skills training and job placement services for Opportunity Youth.

FoodWorks

Gastropub

The Kids in The Hall are growing up. The second incarnation of the student team led by Chef Sean Wilson is known as FoodWorks. This is a gastropub menu including: Bavarian Pretzels, Chili Lime Wings, Smoked Chicken Springrolls, Fried Brussel Sprouts, Portabella Fries, Onion Rings, Weisswurst Sausage Sandwich, Philly Cheese Sloppy Joes, Big Wave Dave (marinated grilled pork loin), The Des Moines Frenchie (fried grilled cheese sandwich), Fish and Chips, Bavarian Breakfast and Roasted Bone Marrow (meat butter). Stay tuned as the culinary exploration begins..

La Mision

Mexican

The newest brand launched by the Justice League of Food. La Mision (The Mission) led by renowned Chef Sean Wilson is an eclectic mix of Tex/Mex and Mexican/Asian Fusion. Burritos, Street Tacos, and Burrito Bowls are the primary focus. Look for the "Cubio" which is a 30" long, mission style burrito. Menu offerings include: Vegetarian, Vietnamese Pork, Korean BBQ, Pollo Asado, Carne Asada, Pastor, Nachos and Quesadillas. As with all JLF Brands, 100% of the proceeds go back into our program to teach and feed those in need.

515Pi

Pizza

Get a taste of what foodies call “irrationally delicious pizza” from 515 Pi. Using hand pressed dough and the freshest ingredients, each inspired pizza is fired fast to order and served bubbling hot. Pizza Meister Brad Bormann was the first in the nation to put an 850 degree Woodstone oven in a truck. Why you ask - cuz they said it couldn't be done.

Charlotte’s Kitchen

Gourmet Chicken Sandwiches

With humble beginnings as a Belgian Waffle vendor named after Grandma Charlotte Noble, Charlotte's Kitchen is now known for gourmet sandwiches including their Fried Chicken Waffle Melt. Good old fashioned chicken sandwiches kicked up a notch and served only at The Hall. There is something for the whole family on their menu.

Rescue Burger and Q

New American Pub Grub

Rescue Burger and Q, led by Pitmaster Brad Jones, has rebranded Deez Greenz, holding on to the popular menu of gourmet burgers, sandwiches and Brussel Sprouts and adding his award winning BBQ. Simple twists on simple food creating unique and delicious pub fare. From the burgers to the brisket, everything is house made daily in the Kitchen DSM. Stay tuned for beer inspired twists on this iconic menu. Bon Appetite!

Taza Mediterranean Grill

Mediterranean

The welcomes back Chef Thaer Taha who is the owner/operator of Taza Mediterranean Grill. He has a new menu focusing on "All Things Falafel". Chef Taha specializes in Iraqi recipes. Stay tuned as his new menu releases in mid-January 2020.
